Bridge Scorer V3

BRIDGE AT SEA

Bridge Scorer V3

Full club scoring, wherever you play

A complete duplicate bridge scoring system: one Windows PC or laptop runs the server, and players score right at the table. Works over any local network — club wifi, home wifi, or nothing at all — so it works just as well on a cruise ship as it does at your club.

What you’ll need

One Windows PC or laptop to host, plus one smartphone or tablet per table — not per pair. Only one pair at each table needs to enter the result each round, so you don’t need a device for every player.

No wifi where you’re playing? Turn on your laptop’s mobile hotspot (or use a phone’s), have everyone join that network, and you’re ready to go — no router, no internet, no ship wifi package needed.
Cruising? The download and install need an internet connection — but running V3 afterwards needs none at all. Set everything up on your host laptop before embarkation day, then you’re fully self-contained for the whole trip using the hotspot method above.

How scoring works

At each table, one pair enters the result for that round on their phone or tablet — the other pair doesn’t need a device at all. As the round finishes, players move table to table as usual, and whoever’s turn it is at the new table scores there. The director’s screen shows live progress across every table as it happens.

At the end of the session

Full results are ready instantly — print a traveller-style results sheet, email results to the field, or export directly to BridgeWebs for clubs that publish there. Nothing needs re-typing from paper afterwards.

Getting started

  1. Download the package — click the button below to get the installer zip from GitHub.
  2. Unzip it to a folder on your host laptop.
  3. Run start-bridge-scorer.bat to launch the server. Windows may show a “Protected your PC” warning the first time — click “More info” then “Run anyway”; this is normal for a small independent tool and not a sign of a problem.
  4. Connect your devices — make sure your host laptop and every scoring phone/tablet are on the same wifi network or hotspot.
  5. Open the director screen on your host laptop and the scorer screen on each table’s device, using the address shown when the server starts.
  6. Set up your movement and you’re ready to play.
